We stayed in Manila for 3 days, but we just spent only 1 day to go around the city because Manila is like every other cities in South East Asia. It is famous of its colonized architecture but you should not expect much about that. The trace of colonization is now left in Maleta (Ermita) with the old churches, forts and some old streets.
Where to go
When visiting Maleta, you can take a tribicycle (it can load 2 persons) to go around the town. The short trip can take you 3 or 4 hours in total. But remember to bargain and make everything clear (how much in total, for all members in your group...)
We were impressive with Augustine Church here.
Manila is also famous of SM Mall of Asia, one of the largest shopping malls in Asia. However, it didn't impress me much!
Public transportation
As we mentioned in previous entry about Philippines, taxi fare in this country is quite cheap - it's better if you have a map and know where to go, and make sure that the driver turn on the meter.
Foods and Drink
We don't have any tips for you about foods and drink here, however, just one note that there are many fast food chains here, both international and local chains. An average meal for one person should be around 100 - 120 peso.
